Josephine “Josie” Lancaster, 75, formerly of Kellogg, ID, passed away on November 13, 2023 at The Schneidmiller Hospice House in Coeur d’Alene, ID. Josie was born on October 26, 1948 in Kellogg, ID a daughter of the late Ovey and Elizabeth Bailey.
Josie graduated from Kellogg High School. She took great pride in her work and excelled while working as a beautician, working at Spunstrand, and as a health unit coordinator at Shoshone Medical Center, a job she really loved. She will be remembered by her family and friends for her crazy sense of humor, her wittiness, and for her stubborn side. But most of all, she will be remembered for her great love for her family.
Josie was always ready for a trip to the casino and watching her favorite shows on TV. Her biggest joy was spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandaughters.
In addition to her parents, Josie is preceded in death by her sisters, Elsie Mutch and Mary Walkenshaw.
Survivors include her children, Tarena Wadsworth of Coeur d’Alene, ID, Richard (Debra) Lancaster of Pinehurst, ID and Jason Lancaster (Trisha Blalack) of Fairfield, WA, four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; two sisters, Louise Guilbalt of Post Falls, ID and Patsy Fuechsel of Osburn, ID.
At Josie’s request, no services are planned at this time. Her daughter, Tarena will notify friends and family of plans for a celebration of her life in the summer of 2024.
