February 17th at 6:38 PM, our hearts broke as we said goodbye to our beautiful grandmother, Josie Montaño, born October 12, 1944. She was the heart and soul of our family — a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend. Her life was built on faith, strength, sacrifice, and unconditional love.
She is now reunited in Heaven with her beloved husband, Andy Montaño; her daughter, Mary Montaño; her mother, Rita Montoya; her father, Fedencio Montoya; her siblings, Diana, Alice, and Joe; her grandsons, Vicente Arvizo, Joseph Herrera, Erick, and Dominic; her son-in-law, Anthony Barreras and Eddie Velarde; her granddaughter-in-law, Aryiel; and her in-laws, Antonino Montaño and Julia Montaño.
She leaves behind her loving sister, Evangelina Luna; Eliane Herrera; and her loving children: Nathan (Debbie), Cerina, Lawrence, Roberta, Joseph, Valerie (Omar), Darlene (Louie), Crystal (Trinidad), Claudette (Joe), and Flor.
Her grandchildren: Nathan (Katarina), Matthew, Ambrose, John, KaSandra, Mariah, Alexis, Cheyenne, Joseph, Marcos, Linda Marie, Angelic (Dominic), Sierra (Jesus), Oscar, Vicente, Mia, Izec, Leah, Lilly, Alejandro, Veloy, Elijah, Sebastian, Aaliyah, Cairo, Cosmo, Phoenix, Freya, Lanaya, and Alonzo.
Her great-grandchildren: Nathan, Isiah, Deziaree, Deja, Ezekiel, Jeremy, Joseph, Josh, Ashlynn, Josiah, Eliana, Arianna, Gabby, Isaiah, Evalina, Katalina, Josiah, and Alejandro.
Grandma Josie’s love runs through generations. She built a family rooted in strength and unity, and her legacy will continue through each of us. Her hugs were healing, her words were comforting, and her home was always open to anyone in need.
Forever in our hearts.
