Josie Prows Obituary
Josie Marie Prows, 96, of Somerset, Kentucky passed away on Saturday, October 11, 2025 at the Jean Waddle Care Center.
Josie was born on February 17, 1929 to the late John & Lula (McCutchen) Burton in Wayne County, Kentucky. She loved spending time with her family and found great joy in tending to her flowers and garden. A devoted member of Woodstock Baptist Church, she cherished her faith and community. She was also a talented quilter and proud blue ribbon winner, known for the beauty and craftsmanship of her work.
She is survived by her daughter, Pat Prows; her grandson, Robert & (Jodena) Fulcher; her great-granddaughter, Emily Fulcher; and several nieced and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Prows; her parents, John and Lula Burton; her daughter, Phyllis Prows; brothers, Bobby Burton, Junior Burton, and Loren Burton; sisters, Grace Poynter, Pearly Miller, and Hattie Skaggs; and a brother in infancy.
A funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday, October 17, 2025 at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home with Bro. Bradley Goforth officiating.
Burial will be at Woodstock Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 12:00 until time for services.
