Josefa Salinas age 78, of Kettleman City peacefully passed away Friday, March 10th, 2023 in her home surrounded by her loved ones. A native woman of Pecos,Texas who lived most of her life in Kettleman City and was the daughter of Matea Bedolla. Josefa was a loving daughter, mother, sister, grandmother, and great grandmother. She spent most of her days at Goodwill, The 99-cent store, Family Dollar or Walmart. She enjoyed watching Bob Ross, Maury, and Jerry Springer. She started her mornings at 5am with a cup of Cafe de Olla and loved the chisme. She will always be remembered as a sweet, loving, and feisty little woman. She loved to help those in her town by sewing up their clothes, reading their letters for them, and cut, perm, and dye their hair. Chepa never went wrong on having her six pack of bud lights and a pack of Marlboro light BUT she was a very devoted woman when it came down to working, she worked as a farm laborer for as long as many of us could remember. Her favorite thing to do when she was younger was dance those hips away to cumbias but especially Fito Olivares, she also loved to listen to Wally Gonzalez, Percy Sledge, Oldies, TexMex, and a little bit of Country. In her younger days it brought smile to her face helping those in need by gifting them with clothes and shoes. She also enjoyed bus rides with her great grandchildren to town. Her favorite places to go were Morro Bay, any buffet, and to gamble her little life away at the casinos. Towards the end she loved eating them special gummies and having movie nights. This is just a small part of the big person she was. Josie will forever be loved and remembered by those who crossed paths with her.
