It is with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of Joy Adams, who left us far too soon on Sept. 7, 2025, surrounded by her loved ones. Joy truly embodied her name in every way, bringing happiness, comfort and love into the lives she touched. She was unbelievably caring and kind, with a heart that welcomed everyone, a beautiful soul and an infectious smile. Joy had a way of making everyone feel seen, valued and loved.
Joy is survived by her parents, Bernard and Carolyn Snyder, of Dallas; her sister, Bernadine; her three children, Charles, Jennifer and Joseph; and eight beautiful grandchildren, who were the absolute light of her life.
She shared her life and heart with her loving partner, Brian. Together they built a home filled with warmth, love and their two cherished fur babies, Shadow and Bear. To Brian, she was not only a partner, but also a best friend, confidant, and source of unwavering strength.
Some of Joy's most cherished moments were spent with her family — making pierogis, laughing around the fire on summer nights, gardening, riding motorcycles with Brian, enjoying "garage nights" filled with family, friends, dogs and watching her grandchildren play. She cherished every moment with her grandchildren, whether she was sleigh riding, sharing stories or leading the ultimate arts and crafts projects. Those times of creativity and laughter will forever be remembered. These simple yet beautiful moments reflect the essence of who Joy was: a woman who found the greatest happiness in the simple love of her family and friends.
Her sudden passing is a reminder of how precious life is, but her legacy of compassion, laughter and love will continue to shine through her children, grandchildren and all who were touched by her presence. Joy will be deeply missed, yet forever remembered for the love she gave, the true joy she embodied, and the light she brought to the world. Although we had so much more to learn from you, you taught us how to be strong, even in the face of adversity.
We love and miss you more than words can convey.
A public viewing will be held from noon to 4 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 13, at Graziano Funeral Home, 700 S. Township Blvd., Pittston, Pa 18640. A celebration of her life and 54th birthday will be held at Pisano's Winery, Hunlock Creek, Pa., following services.
