As Joy's brother Roy's widow, I hold beautiful memories of Joy. Only she could cook lima beans the way he liked them, just like their mom. Yes, she had a contagiously bright smile, and could bake like a master. I miss her and love her maternal ways and her always welcoming kitchen. Love from Jude to all the family!

Sweet Aunt Joy. The baby of the Toy family outlived all her siblings even though she was the sickest of the 5 as a youngster. Lived through heart surgery, bowel surgery, 2nd heart surgery and deaths of her loved ones. She was a spit fire . Her laugh will stay etched in my mind as will her smile and twinkle in her eye . I have good memories of visits , her cakes and pies and those butter beans she was famous for. My youngest memory is around the kitchen table in Mooncrest after church for eggs and bacon and toast with blackberry jam. There was lots of laughter and mostly lots of love. She always listened to me and made me feel important. Her love and attention was a gift to me. I will truly miss her but we are Toys forever. At peace at last.

A light has gone out of the world. Joy was my beloved sister-in-law, the last of the siblings in the family all born on the riverbank in the old family homestead in Reesedale, PA. I admired her ever-sweetness (and the way she would smile when she scolded you as if to say, I love you, and that's more important than what I'm scolding you about) her ability to bake anything, and to cook lima beans the way Walt and my Philip liked them best. I never could get the limas just right. It takes the Toy touch. The Toys are a supremely loving clan, and I am grateful I married into that clan. I will miss Joy with all my heart.
