Joy Elaine Bresenhan, born on December 23, 1946, in Shelby County, Texas, entered into rest on February 10, 2026, in Kingwood, Texas. She was a beacon of love and faith, leaving an indelible mark on all who knew her. Joy began her journey with the Lord when she was saved at Bayshore Church in La Porte, Texas, in 1961, a commitment that guided her throughout her life. A retired payroll supervisor for the New Caney Independent School District, Joy dedicated many years to serving her community. However, her greatest passion was always her family. Joy created a warm and nurturing home, where the aroma of her cooking filled the air, a testament to her love for those closest to her. She cherished moments spent playing with her family and relished every opportunity to make memories that would last a lifetime. In her early years of marriage, Joy found joy in camping and fishing, activities that allowed her to connect with nature and share beautiful experiences with her loved ones. She devoted the majority of her years to her children and grandchildren. She was their cornerstone throughout the vicissitudes of life. Joy's spirit will live on through her devoted children, Sheri Mendoza and her husband Robert, and Sandi Price. She is survived by her loving sister, Dianne Hamilton and her husband Ricky. Her grandchildren, Jordan Bresenhan, Taylor Bresenhan, Christine Price and her fiancé Edward Herzog, Zachary Mendoza and his fiancé Esther Toribio, Ashley Vasquez and her husband Nick, Bobbie Ann Mendoza, Amanda Mclean and her husband Nick, and Robert L. Mendoza, were the light of her life, as were her eleven great-grandchildren, who brought her endless joy. Joy is preceded in death by her beloved parents, Ford Irish and Joy Irish, her son, Weldon Ray Bresenhan, her brother, Don Irish, and her sister, Dorothy Wise. Their memories remain etched in her heart, and she took comfort in the hope of reuniting with them one day. As family and friends gather to celebrate the life of Joy Elaine Bresenhan, they will remember her as a faithful servant to the Lord, a loving mother and grandmother, and a cherished friend.
