Joy Dujoy Obituary

Published by Legacy on Oct. 1, 2025.
Joy Dujoy was born on August 27, 1973, in Saint Mary, Jamaica, to Angela McDermott and Everton Dujoy. The second of three children, she grew up alongside her siblings, Eve and Yan Dujoy.
Joy's journey took her across continents. After starting a family, she moved with her two young daughters, Breeanna and Galaxistar Douglas, to London, England. Five years later, seeking new opportunities, she brought her family to the United States, settling in New Jersey-a place she would call home for the rest of her life.
As a single mother, Joy embodied strength and determination. She worked tirelessly and made countless sacrifices to ensure her daughters had opportunities she never had. No matter the challenges she faced, Joy met them with grace, grit, and an unyielding spirit.
Joy was a force of nature, vibrant, confident, and full of life. She lit up every room she entered with her bold style, infectious laughter, and unique sense of humor. She had a passion for cooking and was always on the move-whether it was a 10-mile run at sunrise or a weekend outing with friends. Everything she did was infused with purpose and joy.
Above all, Joy was devoted to her family. She was a fiercely loving mother, a loyal sister, a proud daughter, and a treasured friend. Her energy was contagious, and her impact enduring.
Joy passed away on July 20, 2025, at the age of 51.
She is survived by her two daughters and a wide circle of family and friends who will miss her deeply.
