PETKE, Joy Elaine - Age 72, of Byron, passed away September 14, 2020. No services will be held. Those desiring may make contributions to Ascension Hospice. Joy was born October 10, 1947 in Merrill, MI, the daughter of Charles Waterman and Esther Clara Adeline (Kreger) Lazell. She was married to Robert A. Petke on September 27, 1969. Joy was passionate about her family. Later in life she took classes to become an In-Home Caregiver. She is survived by her husband, Robert; children, Sue (Lee) Davidson of Atlanta, Craig (Mandy) Petke of Durand, Daniel (Sarah) Petke of Kalamazoo; grandchildren, Taylor (Dustin) Hawkins, Taylor Burk, Sydney Davidson, Cameron Petke, Tiffany Davidson, Jacob Petke, Matthew Davidson, Casandra Davidson, Raya Wojdylak and Harper Petke; great-grandchildren, Adeline, Theodore and Cornelius Hawkins. Following is Joy's final message that she shared with her granddaughter "My dearest friends, I've had so much fun over the years. I was blessed with a wonderful life. Thank you, I feel so loved. I am at peace. This is not a goodbye, it's I'll see you in heaven. I love you"
