Joy Ellen Rountree

Joy Ellen Rountree Born November, 5, 1954 in Dallas, Texas to Oscar and Barbara Eason, passed from this life to be with her Lord on July 13, 2008 in Dallas, Texas at the young age of fifty-three. Joy was a loving wife, mother, sister, and aunt whose smile and gentle heart will be missed by all who knew her. Joy was a vibrant Girl Scout troop leader for fourteen years and an avid softball mom. A 1973 graduate of North Mesquite High School, Joy attended Eastfield College and received her Associate's Degree in 1977. Two years later, Joy started her career with AT&T recently completing twenty-nine years of service. Joy is survived by her husband of 33 years, David Rountree; 2 daughters: Stephanie and Catherine; mother, Barbara Eason; siblings: Eddie Eason, Steve Eason, and Rhonda Roberts; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and other family members along with a host of friends. Joy is preceded in death by her father, Oscar Quinton Eason. Visitation for Joy will be from 6-8 pm on Tuesday, July 15, 2008 at Laurel Oaks Funeral Home located at 12649 Lake June Road, Mesquite, TX 75180. Funeral service will be 2 pm, Wednesday, July 16 at Our Savior Lutheran Church 411 N. Town East Blvd, Mesquite, TX with interment to follow at Laurel Oaks Memorial Park.
