Joy VanRoosendaal Obituary
Joy Ann (Verde) VanRoosendaal age 85 passed away September 3, 2017 in Taylorsville, Utah to John and Ethel Verde. She graduated with a Bachelor's from the U of U. She married Daniel "Pete" VanRoosendaal in Salt Lake City, Utah. Joy was a wonderful school teacher who loved to golf and take trips to Wendover. She also loved her nieces and nephews, who in turn loved her. The family wishes to express gratitude to Golden living for making her last few months some of her best days ever. Sherri, she really loved you.
Graveside services will be Saturday, September 9, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park, 3401 South Highland Drive, SLC. Online condolences may be shared at www.wasatchlawn.com.

My mother, Kathleen, was Joy's aunt. When she found out about Joy, she was heartbroken. She knew Joy for 85 yrs and they had a bond throughout the years. Joy would take her lunch hour when she was the gym teacher and come and see mom. They spoke often on the phone. She will miss her and sends her love to the family.
Love you so much aunt Joy you'll never be forgotten god bless

Joy is my cousin! She was very close to my parents, Elmo and Lucille Johnson. My favorite memory is being in her "convertible" when I was a young teenager. Once when she came to California, she took me to an amusement park. She talked me into going on the roller coaster. I've never been on one since!

To the Verde Family:
My heart was broken when I read of Joys passing today. Not only was she my close friend, but I thought of her as family. We shared wonderful times, golfing, listening to old songs and having a cold beverage on my patio. Trips to Wendover playing "Wheel of Fortune" and her sharing all the great times she had on her bus trips all over America.
To know Joy was to Love her!!
