Joy Darlene Wakefield, age 84, passed away on November 13, 2025 in Buffalo, MN surrounded by her family. She was born on March 19, 1941, in Bay City, Wisconsin to Raymond L. Hall and Ethel C. (Sundell) Hall.

Joy earned her cosmetology certification and went on to found and proudly operate The Golden Comb in St. Paul, where she created many friendships one haircut at a time. She later worked at Snyder Pharmacy for several years.

Independent by nature and spirited at heart, Joy was never afraid to stand on her own two feet. She enjoyed testing her luck at the casino and had a soft spot for her pets. Those who knew her will remember her heart of gold-caring, compassionate, and endlessly kind. Joy absolutely loved to dance, moving with the same spirit that she carried through her life.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Ray and Ethel Hall; brothers, Harlan Hall, Gaylord Hall, Jimmy Hall, and Jackie Hall; and sister, Gloria Moser.

Joy is survived by her children, Dennis "Scotty" Moorhead, Tammy (Andrew) Pellaton, and Heather Hartneck; grandchildren, Shawn Moorhead, Brandon (Lindsey) Pellaton, Ryan (Ashley) Pellaton, Chantal Hartneck, and Haydn Hartneck; great-grandchildren, Blake and Mariah Moorhead, and Rory, Evelyn, Hannah, and Emma Pellaton; and many other relatives and friends.

Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.

Arrangements have been entrusted to The Peterson Chapel of Buffalo. Online condolences for the family may be directed to www.thepetersonchapel.com
