Joyce Aukamp

Joyce R. Aukamp, 82, of Sinking Spring, peacefully passed into her Heavenly Home on June 10, 2025. Born in West Reading, she was the daughter of Warren and Ruth (Glass) Holtzman. Joyce was the loving spouse of William C. Aukamp, with whom she shared 57 wonderful years of marriage.
Joyce was a 1960 graduate of West Reading High School. She continued her education at the Reading Business Institute, where she obtained an associate's degree. For more than 20 years, Joyce was employed at Richard Hartman Insurance. Later, she spent over 15 years working for Wilson School District, retiring in 2007.
As a dedicated member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Sinking Spring, she served on the church council, the altar guild, and participated in the choir. One of her favorite activities with the church was making Easter eggs annually. She was also a member of the Women's Club of Spring Township.
Besides her church involvement, Joyce enjoyed traveling along the East Coast. She frequently went on bus trips with her husband. She enjoyed visiting Ocean City, NJ on family vacations, playing pinochle with family and friends and especially enjoyed watching their grandson's baseball games and attending their granddaughter's dance recitals. She was a lifelong Philadelphia Phillies and Eagles fan and she attended many Penn State football games with her husband.
In addition to her husband, Joyce is survived by her sons, Christopher (Renee), of Lititz, and Craig (Sheri), of Wilmington, DE and her grandchildren: Ryan (Megan), Rachel, and Max. Also surviving is her sister-in-law, Toni Holtzman. Joyce was predeceased by her brother, Jack Holtzman.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, June 17, 2025 at 11:00AM at Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, 739 Penn Avenue, West Reading. Family and friends will be received from 9:30-11AM. Burial will follow at Forest Hills Memorial Park, Exeter.
