Joyce Ann Orange Baldwin, 80 of Forest Chapel Road, Pamplin, died Wednesday, December 24, 2025, at Lynchburg General Hospital, surrounded by her loving family. She was the loving wife of Lacy DeWitt Baldwin for 56 years until his death.
She was born in Appomattox County, November 4, 1945, to the late Katie Goin Orange Sadler and Harry Morton Orange. Joyce was a member of Piney Ridge United Methodist Church, and a former member of Pamplin United Methodist Church. Joyce worked at Stackpole in Farmville, and then later at First Virginia Bank from where she retired. Joyce’s true calling was being a homemaker and taking care of children. She enjoyed cooking and caring for her family, especially her great nephew, Cullen Ramsey. Joyce also enjoyed attending church where she served in many roles including being in the choir, teaching Sunday school, and cooking for special events.
Joyce is survived by a daughter, Janet McConville and husband, Tim of Appomattox; two grandchildren, Aaron McConville and wife, Erin of Lynchburg, and Sarah McConville of Appomattox; a sister, Dorothy “Cookie” Lair and fiancé, Jerry of Pamplin; a special niece, Kimberly Falero Ramsey and son, Cullen of Evergreen; and nephews, Tommy Sadler, Brandon Sadler, Donnie Steadman and Justin Mottley.
She was preceded in death by her sisters, Margaret Steadman and Betty Staton; and three brothers, Lewis Orange, Ted Orange, and Thomas Sadler.
A funeral will be held at 2 pm, Monday, December 29, 2025, at Piney Ridge United Methodist Church, officiated by Pastor Eric Hernandez and Pastor Herndon Jeffreys. Burial will follow in Pamplin Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at Robinson Funeral Home from 4 to 6 pm, Sunday, December 28, 2025, and Saturday, December 27, 2025, at her residence.
