Dawn Marie Floyd, 71, of Concord, VA, passed away on Wednesday, December 24, 2025, at her home. She was the wife of George F. Floyd for 52 years.
Born in St. Louis, Missouri, on May 8, 1954, she was the daughter of the late Betty Overby Hornal and the late Thomas Leo Hornal. Dawn worked as a civil servant for the United States Military for over 23 years. After moving to Virginia, she worked for Central Virginia Family Practice team for over 20 years, until her retirement. She enjoyed R.V. camping, gnomes, and visiting wineries and breweries.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by two children, Shawn Michael Floyd and wife, Amy Lynn J., and Kimberly Dawn Floyd and husband, Carmine Fontana; one granddaughter, Caitlyn Marie Floyd; two siblings, April Stewart and husband, Dennis, and Ray Hornal and wife, Cheryl; one sister-in-law, Barbara Hornal; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who will miss her dearly.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Gerald Hornal and David Hornal.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 7:30 pm, on Saturday, January 3, 2026, at Robinson Funeral Home.
