Joyce Loraine Bishop

Joyce Loraine Early Bishop, 92, of Tyler, passed away September 28, 2025, in Tyler, Texas. She was born on December 16, 1932, in Brownwood, Texas to Fowler and Lela Orr Early. Joyce graduated from Brownwood High School in 1950. She married Jerry Lee Bishop on December 17, 1952. Joyce worked for many years as an Administrative Secretary and as an Executive Secretary. She retired from the International Business Machines Corporation (IBM) on December 31, 1994. Joyce was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Jerry Lee Bishop in 2009; her father, Fowler Early in 1986; her brother, Allyn Fowler Early in 1989; her mother, Lela Victoria Orr Early in 1990; and her brother, Gene Monroe Early in 1999. She is survived by her loving family including her sister, Shirley Early Alford of Graham; daughter, Connie Joy Bishop of Spring Branch; son, Ricky Lee Bishop and wife Julie Anne Davis of Tyler; grandchildren, Rhiannon Briseno of Ft. Worth, Steve Bishop of the Woodlands, Jessica Martin of New Braunfels, and Jameson Joiner of Ocala, Florida. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a favorite charity in her name.
