Joyce Blackburn Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Holman-Howe Funeral Homes Lebanon on Oct. 27, 2024.
Joyce Ann Blackburn, daughter of Clint and Edith Skinner DeVore, was born January 18, 1950 in Sleeper, Missouri. She passed away Saturday, October 26, 2024 in Lake Regional Health System in Osage Beach, Missouri. She was seventy-four years, nine months and eight days of age.
Joyce attended Stoutland Schools and began working at H.D. Lee Company right out of school. Joyce had a gift of caring for the elderly and began her career at Gaslight Manor in Lebanon. Following her time there, she worked privately, taking care of people in their homes.
Joyce was active at Grace Calvary Church and played her guitar and sang many times. She also shared her talent at other church throughout the area. She loved God and enjoyed singing praises and sharing the love of Jesus to others. Joyce was looking forward to spending eternity in Heaven with her Lord.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Clint and Edith; her daughter, Tammy Porter; and several siblings.
She is survived by children, Angie Vanpatten of Richland, Missouri, Jackie Blackburn of Stoutland, Missouri, Tonya Blackburn of Lebanon, Missouri and Jimmy Blackburn, Jr. of Stoutland, Missouri; ten grandchildren, Allen Blackburn, Ayla Vanpatten, Piper Clemens, Jacqulyn Gormley, Ashley Blackburn, Chad Blackburn, Brian Blackburn, Keasha Wyant, Richard Porter and Ethan Porter; a number of great-grandchildren; her brother, Charles DeVore; and her sister, Velma Knapp.
Joyce enjoyed playing games and playing her guitar and singing. She also liked watching westerns and soap operas on television.
Most of all, Joyce loved being a grandma. She treasured the time she could spend with her grandchildren, watching them grow and develop their unique personalities.
Joyce will be remembered for her love of family and her dedication to her loved ones. Her warm presence and unwavering support will be greatly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
