Joyce McEachern Bolyer of Minden, Louisiana passed away peacefully at the age of 86 on July 11, 2025, only a half mile from where she was born on January 12, 1939, and was the seventh of twelve children born to Wesley and Oma McEachern. She was a woman with deep roots and an extreme love of God and her family and was a lifelong member of the Minden Church of Christ.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ottis Eugene “Gene” Bolyer and grandchildren, Jeremy Morgan, Ella Ryan, Slade Billups, Everett and Blakely Boyd, her parents and siblings Idessa Tyler, W.C. McEachern, Norma Lee Miller, Prentis McEachern, John Earl McEachern, Denton McEachern, Jerry McEachern, and Wayne McEachern.
She is survived by her children, Deanie and Roy Karnes, Lugene and Sid Ryan, Charlotte and Terry Finley, Richard Bolyer, Jeff and Alisha Bolyer, Loretta and Mark Vaughan and Kristal Bolyer. She is also survived by a special granddaughter, Mandy Manzanares. Joyce was “Granny” to 36 grandchildren, 69 great-grandchildren and 8 great-great-grandchildren. She is survived by siblings Janie Sue Kendrick, Gerald McEachern and Ellis and Flo McEachern, sisters-in-law Lottie McEachern and Janet McEachern. She left behind too many nieces and nephews to count.
The celebration of her life will be held at the Minden Church of Christ. Family visitation will be at 10:00 o’clock on Tuesday, July 15, 2025, with the funeral services to follow at 11:00 o’clock. Officiating will be Tracy Winget. Interment will follow at Brushwood Cemetery in Dubberly, Louisiana.
Pallbearers are grandsons: Bud Huckabee, Justin Billups, Dylan Lewis, TJ Bolyer, Carson Bolyer, and Caleb Coile.
Honorary Pallbearers: Casey Morgan, Eric Ryan, Nicolas Ryan, Phillip Herndon, Matt Finley, Kyle Vaughan and Keri Vaughan.
