Joyce Brooks Obituary
Joyce was preceded in death by her father, J.C. Pangle; and her loving husband, Paul Brooks.
Paul married Joyce in 1971. Together they enjoyed 52 years of marriage. She is survived by her mother, Ann Hooper, sister, Jan Brooks, daughter, Sherrie (Todd) Brooks Orr, and her grandson, Ethan Sadler.
Joyce retired from Graham County Schools after 30-plus years of teaching. She had a special place in her heart for all her schoolchildren. After retiring, she enjoyed watching game shows and cooking shows, and spending time with her family.
Up until her illness, Joyce was a long-time member of Long Creek Baptist Church.
Funeral services were held at 1 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 13, 2025, at the Townson Smith Funeral Home Chapel.
The Rev. Eddie Brooms officiated.
The family received friends from noon – 1 p.m.
Burial followed at the Old Mother Cemetery.
Townson Smith Funeral Home was honored to serve the Brooks family.
