Lina Joyce Bryant, 73, wife of Allen Bryant, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, July 13, 2025. She was born on July 4, 1952 in Frankfort, KY to the late Evelyn Riddle and Alfred Penn, Jr. Joyce worked for the Commonwealth of Kentucky for the Department of Insurance as Assistant Director and was a member of Hope Community Church in Frankfort.
She is lovingly described by her family as someone who always took pride in caring for others, lots of kids and family, and many grandkids. She loved raising her children and would help anyone else that was in need. Joyce also loved to cook, had an incredible sweet tooth, enjoyed reading, and shared the passion for Elvis, just as her Mother. Her infectious laugh and smile will be missed. She was one of a kind, and an inspiration to all, and will always be remembered by her heart of service and kindness.
Besides her husband, Allen, those left to cherish her memory include her daughters, Crystal (George) Johnson, Jamie Bryant, Jodie Bryant, Angela (Stephen) Hoekstra; son, Ray Bryant; sisters, Wanda Penn Knight, Francine Penn Kemper; brothers, Darrell Penn, Alvin Penn; grandchildren, Allie (Matt), Benjamin, Chasitie, Michael, Aden, Scot, Aubrey, Caden; great grandchildren, Kiersten, Kaylee, Amarah, Amayiah, and Amarion.
She is preceded in death by her parents and 2 brothers.
The family is grateful for caregivers, Mable and Linda, Nurse Brittany, and the Hospice Care – Bluegrass Navigators.
A funeral service will be held, Monday, July 21, 2025 at 1:00 PM at Clark Legacy Center, 3000 Versailles Road, officiated by Pastor Jeff Eaton. Visitation will begin at 10:30 AM and continue until the time of the funeral. Entombment will follow at 2:00 PM at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
