Joyce Marie Bushard

Joyce Marie Bushard (Schomisch) of Lansing passed away on November 26, 2025, at the age of 78. Joyce was born on March 20, 1947, in St. Johns to parents Ronald and Margaret (Swann) Schomisch.
Joyce was a woman of many hobbies and passions. She especially loved to do things with her family and friends. She enjoyed going camping and traveling with her friend Elsie. Her friend Winnie and her could often be found browsing thrift stores and estate sales. Joyce found great joy in finding useful treasures for those around her. She was an avid Michigan State University fan and often watched their games with her friend Meg.
When Joyce wasn't spending time with her family and friends she indulged in reading, cooking, collecting angels, crossword puzzles, and working in her yard. She also enjoyed exercising and swimming at the YMCA and going on trips to the Casino.
Joyce is preceded in death by her parents Ronald and Margaret, her sister Bette Dault, sister-in-law Billie Lou Schomisch, brother-in-law Dave Miller Sr., and nephew Jeff Miller.
Joyce is survived by her daughter Jill Crinion (Timothy), grandchildren Kimberly, Laura, Melanie, great-grandchildren Macie, Ryan, Mia, Marley, Jack, Landry, Benjamin, Eliot, and Elsie; daughter in law Yvette Bushard; grandchildren Joshua, Kyrie, Nathanael, Amedeus, Moriah, Ariel, Keona, and Safiya. She is also survived by her sister Ardith Miller and brothers Ronald Schomisch Jr. and Bruce Schomisch as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.
The family would like to give a special thanks to neighbors Able and Trina for helping and caring for Joyce.
Joyce is remembered by her family as someone who was fiercely independent but always took the time to help others when they needed it. She loved to be around her family and friends. Joyce will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
A Memorial Mass will be held on June 11, 2026, at 12:00 PM at Most Holy Trinity Church, 545 N Maple St, Fowler, MI 48835. Following the Mass, a Graveside Service will take place at Most Holy Trinity Cemetery. A luncheon at the church will be held afterward.
