Joyce Cira

1937 - 2023

LIMA -- Joyce E. Cira, 86 of Lima, passed away on Saturday, July 15, 2023 at her home, surrounded by her loving family.

Joyce was born January 31, 1937 in Lima, OH, to William H. and Harriet K. (Roush) Glancy, who preceded her in death.

On May 4, 1957 she married Richard "Dick" P. Cira, who survives her in Lima.

Joyce was a member of the 1955 class at Lima Central High School. Thanks to her husband, Joyce was able to live her dream of being a stay at home mom and grandma. She was a member of St. Gerard Catholic Church and its Altar Rosary Society. Joyce also belonged to the Sigma Beta Sorority, Beta Omega Chapter.

She enjoyed when she and her husband were able to winter in Venice Florida. Joyce took pride in the fact that she was able to find all of the sporting events for her children and grandchildren without a GPS.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her children, Nick Cira of Cleveland, OH, Rick Cira, David (Barbara) Cira, and Lisa Cira all of Lima, OH; a daughter-in-law, Pam Cira of Lima, OH; seven grandchildren: Amber Junkins, Adam Cira, Ashley (Dr. Kyle) Ball, Andrew Russell, Gus Cira, Gabe Cira and Matt Cira; seven great grandchildren: Everly, Ella, Emersyn and Xander Ball, Charlotte, Chance and Carlee Junkins and sisters in-law, Connie Glancy of Lima, OH and Marie Murphy of Ottawa, OH.

In addition to her parents, Joyce is preceded in death by a sister, Sheila Miller, a brother, William Glancy, a grandson, Ryan Cira, a brother in-law, Lyle "Bud" Miller and sister in-law, Agatha Folk.

There will be a Mass of Christian Burial held on Thursday, July 20, 2023 at 11:00 AM at the St. Gerard's Catholic Church. Officiating the Mass will be Fr. Mike Sergi. Burial will be in Gethsemani Cemetery following the service. Friends may call on Wednesday, July 19, 2023 from 4 PM to 8 PM at the Chiles-Laman Funeral and Cremation Services, Shawnee Chapel. There will be a Rosary Service held at 7:30 PM at the funeral home.
