Joyce Caroline Clingenpeel

Joyce Caroline Clingenpeel, 69, of Salem, Virginia, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 10, 2025. Born on June 13, 1955, in Roanoke, Virginia, Joyce was a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend whose warmth and spirit touched all who knew her.
Joyce spent many years working at the Williamson Road Pancake House, where her friendly smile and kind nature made a lasting impression on countless patrons and coworkers. She had a deep love for flowers and birds, always finding joy in the simple beauty of nature. Myrtle Beach held a special place in her heart, and she cherished the memories made there with family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Carl and Beatrice Letchford; her brother, Thomas Lethford; her sister, Nancy Phelps; her husband, David Clingenpeel; and her lifelong friend and former husband, Phillip Kelley, Sr.
Those left to cherish her memory include her son, Phillip Kelley, Jr. (Keri); grandchildren, David Smith, Shirldon Winegard III, and Aaron Winegard; brothers, James Lethford (Connie), Berkley Letchford, and William Letchford (Connie); and sisters, Rachel Mays (Naaman) and Linda Connor (Jack).
A memorial service will be held on May 13, 2025, at 2:30 p.m. at the Church of the Transfiguration in Fincastle, Virginia, with Rev. Xavier Banasula officiating.
