Joyce Ann Cook, 81, of Newport, Kentucky, passed away peacefully on April 23, 2025, at Christ Hospital in Cincinnati. Born on July 16, 1943, in Newport, Joyce was surrounded by her loving family during her final moments. She devoted 30 years of service to the Internal Revenue Service before retiring. Joyce’s strength, warmth, and gentle spirit touched the lives of all who knew her.
She was a devoted mother to her sons, James “Tony” Baldwin (Kathi) and Allen Ware (Daniese), and her daughters, Crystal Said (John Jr.) and Debra Boggs (James) and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She now joins her beloved children in eternal rest: Charles H. Ware (Loraine), William J. Ware (Nancy), and Paula Ann Ware. She was also preceded in death by her parents, James Palmer Baldwin and Vesta Cecilia Atkins Baldwin.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate Joyce’s life on Thursday, May 1, 2025, with visitation from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Floral Hills Funeral Home – Chapel A, 5336 Old Taylor Mill Road, Taylor Mill, Kentucky. A funeral service will begin at 1:00 PM, followed by interment at Floral Hills Memorial Gardens. A celebration of life will follow at the Southgate Community Center, 301 W Walnut Street, Southgate, KY 41071.
Joyce will be remembered for her boundless love for her family, her enduring kindness, and the light she brought into every room. Her legacy of love, compassion, and quiet strength will live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know her.
