Coon, Joyce Ann - age 72 of Frankenmuth, formerly of Flint, passed away on October 1, 2025. A funeral mass will be celebrated at 11:00 AM Monday, October 6, 2025 at St. Mary's Catholic Church (11110 Saginaw Street, Mt Morris, Michigan 48458) with Father Roy Horning officiating. Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Linden, Michigan. The family will receive guests at the Sharp Funeral Home & Cremation Center (6063 Fenton Road, Grand Blanc, Michigan 48507) from 2:00 PM - 8:00 PM Sunday, October 5, 2025, with a rosary at 4:00 PM Sunday, and visitation at the church on Monday from 10:00 AM until the time of service. For those desiring, memorial contributions may be made in memory of Joyce to the American Legion Post 150 - Auxiliary (990 Flint Street, Frankenmuth, Michigan 48734) or to the animal rescue of your choice.
Joyce was born on November 10, 1952 in Gideon, Missouri to the late Frank and Eloise (McClure) Damron. She graduated from Mt. Morris High School and began working as a waitress at Kresge's. Joyce eventually became employed with General Motors, starting at the Fisher 1 Plant in Flint and retiring from SPO in Swartz Creek. After retirement, Joyce worked for Zehnders of Frankenmuth, first in the bakery and later in the Bakery Food Store. She was a member of the Blessed Trinity Catholic Church in Frankenmuth and the American Legion Auxiliary Post 150 in Frankenmuth. Joyce enjoyed cooking, baking, quilting and she cherished her family. They meant everything to her, especially the grandchildren to whom she was so proud of.
Surviving is her husband, David. Children, Monica Smith of Birch Run, MI; David (Amanda) Coon of Falls Church, VA; Jasen (Amy) Coon of Englewood, FL. Grandchildren, Jacob Coon; Joshua Smith; Logan Coon; Quinton Conzelmann; Ashton Coon; Gage Coon; Madison Smith. Siblings, Jimmy (Cindy) Damron of Bennett, CO; Terry Damron of Strasburg, CO; Debbie (Alan) Arndt of Washington Township, MI. Also surviving are nieces, nephews, extended family and many friends.
Joyce was preceded in death by her parents; siblings, Tommy Damron; Carrie Damron; Carolyn Florida; Peggy Langston; Betty Hill; Marilyn Smith.
