Joyce "Elaine" Darnell

Joyce "Elaine" Jones Darnell, widow of Joseph "Mike" Darnell passed away, surrounded by her loved ones on Wednesday, October 22, 2025, in Stamping Ground, Kentucky. Elaine was born on December 27, 1952, in Hamilton, Ohio, to the late Walter and Henrietta Jones. Elaine had a kind and loving spirit and found her greatest joy in spending time with her children and grandchildren. She loved making quilts, pouring her heart into every stitch, and often shared them as gifts made with love. Elaine will be remembered for her warmth, gentle nature, and the love she gave so freely. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
Elaine will be lovingly remembered by her two sons; Dwayne (Vicki) Darnell of Stamping Ground and Chris (Chasity) Darnell of Stamping Ground, three grandchildren; Jessica (Griff) Baker of Winchester, Taylor Darnell of Stamping Ground and Cody Lee Darnell of Stamping Ground, two great grandchildren; Hailee Faulhaber of Winchester and Amelia Baker of Winchester. Elaine is also survived by her several nieces and nephews and one special niece, Tonya D. Beverly.
Besides her husband and parents, she was proceeded in her passing by her son, David Lee Darnell, and her siblings.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 28, 2025, at Tucker, Yocum & Wilson Funeral Home from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM. The funeral will follow at 1:00 PM with Chester Palmer officiating. The burial will follow the funeral service to Masonic Cemetery in Stamping Ground with Dwayne Darnell, Chris Darnell, Taylor Darnell, Cody Lee Darnell, Johnny Beverly and Pat Hines serving as pallbearers. Griff Baker, Amelia Baker and Hailee Faulhaber will serve as honorary pallbearers.
