Joyce Duke Obituary
Joyce was born on July 17, 1952, and was the daughter of the late Floyd L. Burr and Anne (Borzon) Burr.
She is survived by her brother, Dennis Burr, and her sister-in-law, Patricia Burr; her lifelong cousin and friend, Elizabeth Olmstead; and Elizabeth's daughter, Vanessa Olmstead, who held a special place in Joyce's heart.
Joyce was predeceased by her sister, Carol (Burr) Cardone; her brother-in-law, Roger Cardone; her brother, Douglas Burr; and her sister-in-law, Barbara Burr.
Joyce was known for her kindness, her wonderful sense of humor, and her many talents. She was a fantastic cook, had a keen eye for interior decorating, and took great joy in creating warm, welcoming spaces. Above all, Joyce brought joy and comfort to those around her, leaving lasting memories in the hearts of everyone who knew her.
Services will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Joyce's memory to Anita's Stevens Swan Humane Society.
Services are with Friedel, Williams & Edmunds Funeral and Cremation Services, 1123 Court St. Utica, NY.
