Joyce Faye Dunn, 85, of Marble Hill, formerly of Jackson, passed away Saturday, February 1, 2025, in Providence Care, at the Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau.
She was born October 28, 1939, near Crump, Missouri, to John W. and Bertha "Idell" Sander Ervin. She was a 1957 graduate of Delta High School.
Joyce and Charles W. Dunn were married January 28, 1957, in Marble Hill, Missouri. Their union was blessed with four children, Charles, Matt, Diane, and Debra. In 1973, after Charles's Air Force service, the family settled in Jackson. They had been married 53 years when Charles passed away February 25, 2010.
Joyce was employed 3 ½ years at Brown Shoe Company and 23 years as a seamstress at Thorngate factory, retiring in October 2001.
Her hobbies included sewing, cooking, gardening, camping, puzzling, music, and spoiling her grand and great-grandchildren.
Loving survivors include three children, Charles W. (Eva) Dunn of Marble Hill, Missouri; Dean "Matt" (Dani) Dunn of Jackson; Diane (Keith) Glaus of Whitewater, Missouri; son-in-law, Gary Smith of Jackson; eight grandchildren: Fr. Charles Dunn, Daniel Dunn, Amanda (Dustin) Woods, Joshua (Mary) Roberts, Jessica (Ryan) Roberts, Ashley (Curtis) Jansen, Trever Glaus, Mike Smith; 12 great-grandchildren: Kyle Burton, Alyssa Burton, Emma Roberts, Axel Roberts, Haylee Lanigan, Lane Lanigan, Colton Weaver, Ezekiel Woods, Elijah Woods, Isabella Woods, Maddi Jansen, Levi Jansen; a sister, Sharon (Ervin) Seabaugh; niece, Shelby (Jerry) Franklin; great-nephews, Trey, Corbin, Reagan, and Owen Franklin.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles; a daughter, Debra Smith; two grandchildren, Tina Smith and Aaron McKinney; and her parents.
Visitation is from 4 to 7 p.m., Tuesday, February 4, 2025, at McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson. At 7 p.m., Tuesday, Fr. Charles Dunn will conduct Parish Prayers. Thereafter, Daniel Dunn will lead the Rosary.
Fathers Joseph Kelly and Charles Dunn will concelebrate Funeral Mass at 10 a.m., Wednesday, February 5, 2025, at St. Ambrose Catholic Church, 418 South Third Street, Chaffee, Missouri 63740. Interment will follow at Baker Cemetery, 24094 Route 51, Marble Hill, Missouri 63764.
