Joyce Evans Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Forest Ridge Funeral Home-Memorial Park Chapel on Dec. 9, 2025.
Joyce Churchman Evans, 91, passed away peacefully on December 4, 2025 in Fort Worth Texas. Born on September 4, 1934 in Frankston Texas. Joyce lived a life marked by dedication to her family, her faith and her community.

Joyce began her professional journey as a bank teller at Riverside Bank in Fort Worth. Through hard work and perseverance she rose through the ranks to become a vice president -a testament to her intelligence, integrity and commitment. Her career was one of steady advancement and quiet leadership, earning the respect of colleagues
and clients alike.

A devoted member of First United Methodist Church in Hurst for over 50 years, Joyce shared her love of music with the congregation as a gifted soprano in the church choir. Her voice was a cherished part of worship services for decades. In addition to singing, she also directed children's choirs over the years, nurturing young voices and instilling in them a love for music and faith.

Joyce was deeply involved in civic life as well. She spent many years with the Hurst Women's Club and served 2 terms as President. Her leadership and service reflected her belief in giving back to the community that meant so much to her.

Above all else, Joyce was devoted to her family. She is survived by her son Mark Churchman and his wife Julie; her sister Jane Pate; grandson Matt Churchman; granddaughter Melissa Contreras and husband Daniel and great-grandchildren Hayden, Kyra, Cameron and Elliott. She was a wonderful and giving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who was always there for those she loved.

Joyce's legacy lives on through the lives she touched with kindness, strength and unwavering support. May her memory bring comfort to those who knew and loved her.
