Joyce Gordon Obituary

Joyce Elaine Gordon (Tillie) of AuGres, passed away peacefully on Sept. 2, 2025, surrounded by her loving family in Tawas City.
Tillie was born on June 15, 1941 in Bay City, but lived in Tawas City for the next 24 years.
A graduate of Tawas Area Schools Tillie married Roger Gordon of East Tawas on Aug. 25, 1962. They were married for 62 years and separated by Roger's death on Jan. 7, 2025. The couple is survived by two children, Roger Gordon Jr. and Debbie Peter; as well as four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Tillie was the daughter of William and Otelia Bertch and sister to three siblings, Pat Knotts (deceased), Kay Beam of Kawkaulin, and Dale Bertch of Tawas City.
Since childhood Tillie was known for her fun-loving nature, quick wit, and fierce love of family. She was an unapologetic animal lover, artist, and loving grandmother.
Over the years Tillie worked at several area automotive parts plants including Bopp-Busch Industries and Starboard Manufacturing. She was also the proprietor of "Tillies Live Bait" for over 20 years in AuGres in the 1970s to 1990s.
A remembrance and luncheon will be held on Oct. 4, from 1 to 4 p.m. in AuGres at Edmonds AuGres Inn to celebrate both Roger and Tillie's well lived lives with family and friends.
