Joyce Hamilton

Joyce Hamilton (Nielson), age 87, returned home to her Heavenly Father on October 19, 2023 after her courageous battle with metastatic breast cancer. It would be wrong to say that Joyce lost her battle with cancer because she never quit fighting. Joyce was born March 15, 1936 to Vivian Raymond and Eva Elizabeth Nielson in Nephi, Utah. She is preceded in death by her husband of 60 years Daniel Lester Hamilton, and her grandson Dustin Hamilton. Joyce is survived by her six children, Dana Hamilton, James (Janelle) Hamilton, Danette Hamilton, Julie (Shelby) Huffaker, Dawna (Dong) Li, and Joel Hamilton. She is also survived by her loving brother Paul (Kitty) Nielson and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, whom she cherished above all.
Joyce was a strong woman of faith belonging to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. She enjoyed living her final years with her daughter Dawna and engaging daily with her grandchildren. Joyce had many friends and belonged to the "Girls Club" and talked endlessly about their lunch and dinner dates. In her younger years she performed in theater and was quite the singer. Joyce also loved to shop and decorate her home. She will be missed by her family, friends, and the community.

A viewing will be held at Pineview Mortuary, St. George, Utah on Thursday, October 26, 2023 from 5:00pm - 7:00pm. Interment will be at the Vine Bluff Cemetery in Nephi, Utah.
