Joyce Ann Harrison, a beacon of love and gentleness, passed away peacefully on January 29, 2026, at the age of 76. Born on January 7, 1950, in the quaint town of
Carbon Hill, Alabama, Joyce grew up imbued with the values of family and community that would later define her life.
Joyce's heart found its match when she married Roy Harrison on a beautiful summer day, June 21, 1968, in Pontiac, Michigan. Their union was a testament to enduring love and partnership. Together, they welcomed two sons into the world, James Harrison and Michael (Catherine) Harrison. Who in turn provided her with 4 grandchildren Jade Harrison, Alexis Henderson, Haley Harrison, and James Harrison Jr. Her family was the cornerstone of her life, and she cherished every moment spent with them.
The daughter of James and Dorothy (Gunter) Roberts, Joyce inherited a spirit of resilience and care. Her brother, Donald Roberts, and his wife Kathy, along with her sister-in-law Bev Roberts, remember her as a pillar of strength and kindness. Joyce was predeceased by her loving parents and her brother David Roberts, who she held dear to her heart.
A proud high school graduate, Joyce dedicated her life to creating a home filled with warmth and happiness. She was a homemaker extraordinaire, weaving love into the fabric of daily life. Her hands were rarely still, for Joyce found joy in cooking, sewing, and tending to her garden, ensuring that her home was not just a place to live, but a sanctuary for all who entered.
Those who knew Joyce would speak of her loving nature, her gentle touch, and her remarkable ability to fix and create with her hands. She was the embodiment of the adage that the heart's warmth is the essence of home. Her culinary skills were unmatched, and her sewing brought both beauty and comfort to her family. The garden she so tenderly cared for was a reflection of her soul, blossoming with life and colors that brought joy to all who beheld it.
As we remember Joyce Ann Harrison, we are reminded of the beauty of a life well-lived, and the impact one individual can have on the hearts and lives of others. Her legacy is one of love, nurturing, and the simple yet profound joy of taking care of those around her. Joyce's memory will be treasured and kept alive in the stories shared around the dinner table, the quilts that wrap us in warmth, and the flowers that continue to bloom year after year in her garden.
She leaves behind a family that adores her, friends who admire her, and a community that recognizes her as a true embodiment of what it means to live a life of purpose and affection. Joyce Ann Harrison will be dearly missed, yet her spirit will continue to guide and inspire us in the days to come.
