Don Carlos Harrison

Don Carlos Harrison, 59, passed away unexpectedly at his home surrounded by his `family, on Saturday, January 31, 2026. He was a devoted husband, a proud father, and a man whose humor and generosity touched everyone who knew him. A loving and selfless family man, Don put his heart into everything that he did, especially when it came to his family and his long career at Alma Tire Company. He believed deeply in hard work and personal responsibility, and has passed those values on to his children by example. Through his tireless dedication, he taught them the importance of perseverance, integrity, and taking pride in an honest day's work.

Don knew how to work hard and play hard. He was known to be telling corny jokes around the campfire one minute and taking a sales call the next. Don never missed any of his kids' numerous sporting events, even if he had to find a spot for the work truck and trailer full of tires in the busy parking lot. He found joy in restoring trucks with his children and friends, bringing new life to classic machines through patience and skill. Don loved bringing his cars and trucks to car shows around the area, a passion that reflected his appreciation for craftsmanship, history, and quality time with his loved ones. Weekends in the summer were spent at the campground surrounded by his family and close friends. Whether gathered around the campfire, drinking beer, or zipping around in the golf cart, those moments were some of his happiest.

Don is survived foremost by his devoted wife of 30 years, Debra Harrison. They met in 1990 and built a life together rooted in love and commitment, which became the foundation of their tight-knit family. His most beloved children, McKenzie (Lee), Matthew (Kayla), Allyson, and Don Jr. Harrison; siblings Terri (Pat) Bowers, Jerry (Patti) Harrison, Bryan (Jackie) Hall, Randy Hall, Kerri (Brian) Sugar, Bryce Kreh, Austin (Audra) Harrison, Arianna (Brandon) King, and sisters-in-law Tammy Bodrie, Carrie (Brian) Nutt, Tina (Jimmy) Matthews; step-mother Katie Harrison and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and close friends. He will also be missed by his pups Hawk, Bruce and Echo.

He was preceded in death by his parents Edward Harrison and Carolyn Hall, step-father Lyle Hall, father and mother-in-law Donald Bodrie and Char Geiling; brothers Ed Harrison and Timothy Hall; daughter Crystal Harrison; maternal and paternal grandparents; and his best furry friend Riley.

Visitation will be held at Rivertown Funeral Home in Kawkawlin, Michigan on Saturday, February 7th, 2026 from 1:00-8:00 pm. Chaplain Rob Rushlo will be officiating a memorial service at 7:00 pm.
