Joyce Marie Hoffmann, née Delaney, was born on July 6, 1932, in Saint Louis, Missouri. Fortified with the Sacraments of Holy Mother Church, she departed this earth on November 26, 2025 to be reunited with the love of her life, Richard F. Hoffmann, and her savior, Jesus Christ.
In life, Joyce was surrounded in the warmth and love of her family including six children, twelve grandchildren and eighteen great-grandchildren. She is survived by her children—Donna Hoffmann, Michael (Vicki) Hoffmann, Daniel (Susan) Hoffmann, Mark (Cindy) Hoffmann, Karen (Steve) Barron, and David Hoffmann. Joyce has a beloved youngest sister, Jeanette Hummel. She is predeceased by her parents, Gilbert Ernest and Edna Lena (Goeddel) Delaney, two mischievous brothers, Bobby and Kenny Delaney, and two cherished older sisters, June ‘Fay’ Terry and dearest Jean Custer.
Joyce’s life was devoted to caring for her family and enjoying time with them along with life-long friends. She entertained often in her home as a warm hostess who loved to cook and bake and play card games. ‘Joycee-Lou’ loved music and rhyme, always singing and humming or reciting poems from childhood. She was a stitch-perfect seamstress sewing garments for her girls and grandchildren. She loved going sockless and being outside in the sunshine, always. She especially loved her little ones, who all adored her, and she helped raise three granddaughters. Being with her family was what she loved most, and she’d often say that her life was wonderful and blessed. But mostly, she loved doing life with her husband, Rich.
Joyce will be remembered for the sparkle in her pale blue eyes, her sweet smile and precious laugh, and her quirky, delightful sense of humor. Memories of good times shared and her kind spirit will live forever and comfort all those who love her.
Memorial Mass will be held on Friday, December 12, 2025, at 10:00 am St. Bridget of Kildare, 111 West Union St., Pacific, MO 63069.
