Joyce M Gidion Oppie was born January 29, 1936 in Mabton, WA. She attended Mabton schools where she graduated. Joyce became the very first elected Miss Mabton.
She passed March 6, 2026 at Amber Hills in Prosser, where she made her home after the death of her daughter, Jeri Rome and son in law Lee Rome to cancer. She also is proceded in death by husband Charles Gideon, husband Barry Oppie, her mom Marjorie and father Floyd Riggs. Her siblings Eddie Riggs, Jack Riggs, sister Barbara McBain and sister Janie Barton.
Her surviving siblings are Jerry and Annette Riggs, Mel and Joan Riggs, Donna and Ron Voss, Gloria and Ric Rabe, Judy and Mike Fritsche, Vera and Fred Zavala.
Family would like to thank Amber Hills for her care.
Graveside services will be held at Mabton Cemetery provided by Valley Hills Funeral Home on March 13, 2026 at 11:00 am
