A funeral service celebrating the life of Joyce Fields James, 69, will be held at 11:00 AM, Thursday, January 29, 2026, at Kilpatrick’s Rose-Neath Funeral Coushatta chapel with Sister Vernese Green officiating and assisted by Bro. Kevin Dupree and Bro. James Nailes. Interment will follow in Bethany Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM, Wednesday, January 28, 2026, at the funeral home. The services are under the direction of Kilpatrick’s Rose-Neath Funeral Home.
Joyce was born on September 27, 1956, in Coushatta, LA to William Walker and Helen Joyce Hensley Fields and passed January 21, 2026, at her residence in Coushatta, LA, surrounded by her family. She loved to travel, the mountains being her favorite place. She was known for her collectibles, especially her chicken figurines.
Joyce was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Terry Lynn Fields; and niece, Andrea Ballard.
Left to cherish her memory are her husband of 10 years, Edward Milton James; daughter, Darla Robinson (Carl); sister, Janet Thomas (Kenneth); brothers, William Curtis Fields (Joy) and Bobby Wayne Fields; grandchildren, Lawrence Robinson and Lucas Robinson; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Honoring Joyce as pallbearers will be Jack Fields, Ty Bagley, Kenneth Thomas, Phillip Walsworth, Mike Jeter, and Jacob Tipton. Honorary pallbearers will be Jerry Don Evans, Lawrence Robinson, Lucas Robinson, Trevin Bagley, Lathan Bagley, and Hollis Dupree.
