Joyce Mae Allen Johnson
COLONIAL HEIGHTS, VA. - Joyce Mae Allen Johnson passed away peacefully on July 24, 2025. Joyce was born on September 10, 1928, in Rocky Mount, NC, the second daughter of Thomas Lewis Allen and Lula Mae Burnette. In her 96 plus years, Joyce enjoyed a full life. She was married for over 68 years to Edward C. "Peanut" Johnson, until his death in 2019, she was the mother of four children and eight grandchildren, and an active member of Colonial Christian Church in Colonial Heights, VA. Joyce is survived by her children, Karen, Ed (Nancy), Tom (Trixie) and Scott (Leslie); eight grandchildren, Ira, Stacy, Ehren, Coyote, Devan, Erika Joyce, Niklas, and Nathaniel; and three great-grandchildren, Lucius, Josephine and Diana Grace. She is also survived by several nieces and a nephew. In addition to her husband and parents, Joyce was predeceased by her sister, Frances. A graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 31, 2025, in Pineview Cemetery, Rocky Mount, NC.
