Joyce Elaine Johnson, age 82, of Curryville, MO passed away at 9:42 am Tuesday, July 29, 2025, at Boone Hospital Center in Columbia, MO.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 am Friday, August 1, 2025 at Waters Funeral Home. Pastor Bob Hoehn will officiate. Burial will be in the Farber Cemetery.
Visitation celebrating Joyce's life will be held at 10:00 am until the time of the service Friday at the Waters Funeral Home.
Joyce was born on September 9, 1942, in Fort Scott, KS the daughter of Eugene Lewis and Maxine Ruby (Harris) Wright.
She was united in marriage to Raymond Johnson on March 21, 1959 in Port Hueneme, CA. He preceded her in death on October 6, 2007.
Survivors include two sons, Richard Allen Johnson (Stacey) of Fayette, MO and Bobby Johnson and Lisa of Vandalia, MO; brother, Art Wright (Patty); sisters, LeAnna Worthington (Mike), Shirley Imai, and Debbie Savage (Joe); grandchildren, Jeremy Johnson, Sarah Galloway, Ryan Johnson, Aubrey Johnson (Brittany), Jayden Johnson, Leah Campbell (Jacob), Brooke Johnston (Chris) and Billy Joe Johnson; twenty great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Johnson was preceded in death by a son Billy Johnson, and brother, Michael Wright.
Mrs. Johnson took pride in her home, working as a homemaker helping raise her children. Quilting, gardening and canning the fruits of her labor were things Joyce enjoyed doing. Her biggest love was her family, spending time with her precious grandchildren and great-grandchildren is what she cherished the most.
Joyce attended Spencer Creek Baptist Church.
Pallbearers will be Bobby Johnson, Richard Johnson, Aubrey Johnson, Ryan Johnson, Mike Schambach, and Jeron Fox.
Honorary pallbearers Sarah Galloway, Leah Campbell, Brooke Johnston, and Karson Miller
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, in care of Waters Funeral Home.
