Joyce Ann Kays

Joyce Ann Kays, 80 of Higginsville, Missouri died on Wednesday, February 28, 2018, at her home. Born Monday, September 13, 1937 in Higginsville. She was the daughter of John Beck and the late Alma Knox Beck. Joyce was a lifetime resident of Higginsville. She married Frank Kays on June 4, 1955 and he preceded her in death on March 11, 1999. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, the Higginsville Red Hatters, American Business Women's Association and Higginsville Legion Auxiliary. She also volunteered at various activities including helping serve communion at the church. Surviving are one son, Mark (Joyce) Kays of Higginsville; one daughter, Karen Kays Irvine of Concordia, MO; two brothers, John "Pete" Beck of Higginsville and Tom (Jan) Beck of Lexington, MO; five grandchildren, Drew Irvine, Kyle Irvine, Alesia (Mark) Emison, Lynna (Aaron) Good and Lance Kays; three great grandchildren, Chandler Emison, Camille Emison and Amron Good. A funeral service will be held at 10:30 AM on Saturday March 3, 2018 at St. Mary's Catholic Church with Father Tom Hawkins officiating and Virginia Graham, organist. Interment will be in City Cemetery, Higginsville. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Friday, March 2, 2018, at Hoefer Funeral Home, Rosary at 7:15 PM. The family suggest memorials to American Lung Association or the Higginsville City Cemetery. Casket bearers are Drew Irvine, Kyle Irvine, Lance Kays, Mark Emison, Aaron Good and Greg Beck.
