Joyce McLean King, 80, of Durham, North Carolina, peacefully passed away in the early morning on Sunday, December 3, 2023. She was born September 24, 1943 in Durham, N.C. to the late Howard and Eva McLean.
Mrs. King was a founding and longtime member of Mt. Herman Baptist, where she not only sang in the choir but also served as Choir Director. She was always a very supportive wife, mother, friend and church member. Joyce loved to cook and decorate for Christmas. She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother and grandmother, Great Grandmother. Who will be deeply missed by everyone blessed to have known her.
Joyce is preceded in death by her loving husband, Roy King and sister, Margaret Scott.
Mrs. King is survived by her son, Michael King; daughter, Robin Jordan (Cecil); brother, Howard “Woody” McLean, Jr.; sister, Brenda Daniel (Paul); grandchildren, Christina Dobos (Andrew), Katie Gray (Brandon) and Jared Jordan (Kayla); great grandchildren, Tyler Clanton, Davis Clanton, Caroline Clanton, Josh Clanton and Presley Gray and other loving family members and friends.
The family will receive friends starting at 6:00 P.M to 7:30 P.M. prior to the service. Thursday, December 7, 2023 at Hudson Funeral Home Chapel. The Funeral Service will start at 7:30 P.M. Officiating will be Rev. Phillip Adams.
