Rose Loftis Elliott, aged 96, passed away peacefully on Monday, February 16, 2026. Born on December 4, 1929 to the late Warren Loftis and the late Nannie Wilbourn Loftis, Rose was a beloved mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.
An avid gardener, Rose found solace in tending to her flowers. Her gardens were evidence of her nurturing spirit and her joy in bringing beauty to the world. Her love for her family, her greatest passion, was evident in every moment she spent with them, leaving a tapestry of memories woven with laughter and love. Her serving family and friends with food and caregiving was a testimony to her faith and selflessness. Rose was a lifelong member of her beloved Cherry Hill Methodist Church and rarely missed a service. She also dedicated 28 years at Belk as a valued employee where she wore a smile daily for her customers and made many lasting friendships.
She is survived by her daughter, Kay Elliott Nichols, and her husband, Paul, who reside in Clarksville, VA. Additionally, she leaves behind her adored grandchildren, Senecca Elliott Kirkhart (Jason) of South Boston, Corbin Rose Franklin (Tyler) of Richmond, Leila Elliott Mancuso (Jeremy) of Falls Church, Quinn Elliott (Laura) of Browns Summit, NC, and Sarah Thompson (Tucker) of Durham, NC, as well as her precious great-grandchildren, Ethan Kirkhart, Elliott Kirkhart, Harper Franklin, Virginia Rose Franklin, and Lucy Rose Elliott and devoted daughter in law, Ginny Elliott of Virgilina and many beloved nieces, nephews, and other close family members. Rose's legacy of love and resilience lives on through each of them.
Rose was predeceased by her devoted husband, Harry "Butch" Elliott, her cherished son, Dan "Danny" Elliott, and her loving sisters, Nannie "Bonnie" Bebber, Gwen Murray, and Gladys Bentley.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, February 21, 2026 at 2:00 PM at Cherry Hill Methodist Church with Mitch Conner and Paul Nichols officiating. The family will receive friends at the church an hour before the service, starting at 1:00 PM. There will be a reception in the church fellowship hall following the service.
