Joyce Kloubec, 98, of Moorhead, MN, passed away September 23, 2023, at River Pointe of Moorhead.
Joyce J. Nicholls was born in Ypsilanti, ND on December 27, 1924, the daughter of Stanley and Ruth Nicholls. She graduated from Jamestown, ND and attended business school. She married Robert Kloubec on September 10, 1949, in Ypsilanti, ND. They lived in New Salem and Napoleon, ND and Mahnomen and Thief River Falls, MN. Joyce worked for JCPenney’s and the Selective Service in Thief River Falls. They moved to Moorhead in 1972 and she worked for the Fargo VA. Robert and Joyce were active at the Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd in Moorhead. They were married for 64 years.
Joyce was a social butterfly. She loved a party and she sparkled from head to toe. She was a friend to all and loved by many.
Joyce is survived by 2 children: Nicki (Gary) Almquist, of Fargo, ND and Corli (Dale) Hanson of Quincy, IL; 6 grandchildren: Burke Almquist, Travis Almquist and Tyler (Brittany) Almquist, Dale Hanson Jr., Robbie (Daniela) Hanson and Ryan (Zoe) Hanson and 9 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister, Patty Holden, and several nieces and nephews.
Joyce was preceded in death by her parents and siblings, Maida Sjoberg, Fred Nicholls, Gene Nicholls, and Ellen Orr.
The family would like to extend a special thank-you to her Good Shepherd family, Hospice of the Red River Valley, and the legendary staff of River Pointe of Moorhead.
Joyce lived at River Pointe of Moorhead for 14 years. There will be a gathering at River Pointe on Wednesday, September 27th at 2:00 P.M. A Celebration of Life will be Thursday, September 28th at 2:00 P.M., with visitation for one hour before the service, at the Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd, 4000 28th St S. Moorhead, MN.
