Joyce A. Lapekas Joy, born on September 21, 1949, in Battle Creek, Michigan, peacefully passed away on December 19, 2025 in Kansas City, Kansas. A devoted homemaker, Joyce dedicated her life to raising her beloved children, nurturing their growth and supporting them in every way possible.
Joyce was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, a community that played an integral role in her life. Her faith was a very important part of her life, shining through in her commitment to her spirituality and family.
Joyce is survived by her children, Stuart, Andrew, David, Jeffrey and Rebecca, grandson Gavin . She is also remembered fondly by her siblings, Carole, Gary and Bob who will carry her memory in their hearts. She was preceded in death by her parents, Stanley and Betty Lapekas, who instilled in her the values of love and compassion that she exemplified throughout her life.
A visitation will be held in her honor on January 5, 2026, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, located at 15915 W 143rd Street, Olathe, Kansas, 66062. Following this, a funeral service will take place at the same location starting at 11:00 AM, with burial to follow at Pleasant Valley Cemetery.
Joyce's legacy of love, faith, and dedication will endure through her family and all who had the privilege of knowing her. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.
