Joyce C. Lee passed away peacefully on March 1, 2026, at the age of 91 years old. She was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved husband, Bob; and her siblings, James and Jean. Joyce was a devoted daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who was deeply loved by all who knew her.
Joyce was born in
Hackensack, New Jersey, on May 30, 1934, to Bed Yon Dong and Hong You Chin. She was the oldest of four children and spent her early years growing up in Hackensack until her marriage in 1954. Joyce and her husband Bob lived in Shreveport, Louisiana, where Bob served in the United States Air Force and where their daughter, Patricia, was born. They later moved to New York City while Joyce worked and supported Bob as he pursued his studies at NYU.
Joyce began her professional career in New York City, starting as a legal secretary for Western Electric. During her time there, she was selected to serve as an exhibit hostess at the Bell System Pavilion at the 1964-1965 New York City World's Fair in Queens, New York. She later joined the New York Telephone Company, where she worked as a Community Relations Consultant serving the Chinatown community in NYC. In this role, she successfully promoted the benefits of telephone services, helping increase community awareness and engagement. As her career progressed, she joined AT&T as a computer programmer and continued to thrive in her work until her retirement from Verizon. After Bob graduated, the family moved to Corona, New York, where they lived for several years before eventually settling in the suburbs of White Plains, New York. During these years, Joyce and Bob spent countless joyful moments with their daughter and her growing family. During their retirement years, Joyce and Bob moved to
Aventura, Florida.
They were devoted and loving grandparents who cherished every opportunity to be together. Both worked hard throughout their lives and shared a love of travel. Joyce was also a devoted and attentive wife, lovingly caring for Bob for nearly a decade before his passing in 2002. After Bob's passing, Joyce fully settled in
Aventura, Florida, where she spent the last two decades of her life. There she enjoyed an active and fulfilling life, surrounded by many dear family and friends.
Joyce is survived by her daughter Patricia; her grandchildren Jason (Rachel), Tina (Jay), Kevin (Stephanie), and Justin (Yuka); and her six great-grandchildren, Trevor, Declan, Ella, Colin, Carter, and Luca. She is also survived by her brother John (Marlene), her nephews, and her loving partner of twenty years, Charles Pastor, all of whom brought great joy and richness to her life.
She will be dearly missed and forever held in our hearts.
A private service and burial will be held in remembrance of Joyce. The family would like to thank everyone for their unwavering love and support.
