Joyce Lockamy Obituary
A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday, December 30 at Westview Cemetery with Pastor Allen Ham officiating.
Joyce was born October 6, 1940, in Kinston, North Carolina to the late Ilton Edwin Ennis and Ruby Johnson Ennis. She was a graduate of Contentnea High School in 1958 and earned a B.S. Degree and a Master of Arts in Elementary Education from East Carolina University in Greenville, NC. Joyce taught at Pink Hill Elementary and Banks Elementary Schools and retired from Lenoir County Public Schools. She was a long-time member of Spilman Memorial Baptist Church.
Joyce is survived by her husband, Donald W. Lockamy of the home; son, Mark R. Conway (Jackie); daughters, Wendy Conway Riley (Thomas) and Sheree Conway Stroud (Scott). She is also survived by Don's children, Jonathan Lockamy and Jason Lockamy (Brooke) of Virginia; her grandchildren, Mallory Conway Tucker (Burch), Bec Conway, Ben Riley, and Emily Riley Hoffman (Riley); great grandchildren, Tilly Grey Tucker and Ollie B. Tucker; and Don's grandchildren, Tori Lockamy, Madison Lockamy, Jason Lockamy Jr., and Jacob Lockamy.
Her family is grateful for the care provided by Silver Care Health Care Agency and especially thankful for her special caregiver and friend, Darlene Williams.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Spilman Memorial Baptist Church, 601 Madison Avenue, Kinston, NC.
