HOWE - Joyce C. Lowe, age 81, of Howe, Indiana, passed away on Monday evening, Oct. 6, 2025, at Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne, Indiana.
She was born on Feb. 24, 1944, in LaGrange County, Indiana, daughter of the late Garold E. and Evelyn Z. (Wilder) Northup.
Joyce was a lifelong LaGrange County resident and a graduate of Mongo High School with the Class of 1963.
Joyce retired as a supervisor from Ohio Table Company in LaGrange, following 48 years of dedicated employment. Over the course of her career, she became skilled in every position within the plant and was respected for her strong work ethic and leadership.
She was an active member of Orland American Legion Post #423 Ladies Auxiliary in Orland, Indiana.
Joyce took great pride in her flower gardens and enjoyed working outdoors, especially mowing her lawn. She had a lifelong love of animals, particularly her dogs and possessed a special talent for crocheting. Her beautifully crafted afghans, many of which she gifted to loved ones, will be cherished for years to come.
She is survived by her loving and devoted husband, Allan; daughter, Sheri (Gary) Fritz, of Nevada Mills, Indiana; grandsons, Michael Alan Fritz and Justin Ray Fritz, both of Nevada Mills; brother, David L. (Jean) Northup, of Howe, Indiana; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; stepdaughter, Cara Lowe; sister and brother-in-law, Norma Jean and Keith Shultz; brother and sister-in-law, Paul and Patricia Northup; and nephews, Craig Northup and Paul Northup.
The family will receive friends from 3-5 p.m., on Sunday, Oct. 12, 2025, at Hackman Chapel of Hackman Family Funeral Homes, 114 S. Nottawa St., Sturgis.
Funeral services celebrating the life of Joyce C. Lowe will be held at 11 a.m., on Monday, Oct. 13, 2025, at the funeral home.
The Rev. Jerry Burghduff, of Cornerstone Church of Hamilton, Indiana, will officiate.
A graveside committal will follow at Greenlawn Cemetery in Orland, Indiana.
