In loving memory of Mary Joyce Johns Manuel, who passed away on April 30, 2024 at 87 years old at Wesley House Assisted Living in Gainesville, TX. Funeral services will be held at 10 AM, Saturday, May 4, 2024, at Criswell Funeral Home Chapel in Ada, OK. Pastor Randall Christy will officiate. Burial will follow at Rosedale Cemetery in Ada, OK.
Joyce was born on January 24, 1937, to Winfield Johns and Lessie Annie Coffee Johns at Bromide, OK. Joyce married the love of her life, J.W. Melvin "Speck" Manuel on February 26, 1955, in Ada, OK.
Joyce had many jobs throughout her life as a jewelry sales lady, a quality control inspector, a bread and pastry cook at ECU Cafeteria, a secretary and sewed blue jeans at Blue Bell. But her most prized life accomplishment was fulfilled by loving and caring for her family.
Joyce was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Melvin; her youngest son, Brian Keith Manuel; and eight siblings.
Loved ones that Joyce has left behind to cherish memories of her are her daughter, Sherry and husband, Burl Webb, Jr. of Lone Grove, OK; son, Kerry Manuel and wife, Rebecca, of Lone Grove, OK; son, Wendell Manuel and wife, Sandra, of Ada, OK; daughter-in-law, Susan Smith, of Ada, OK; nine grandchildren; seventeen great grandchildren; sister-in-law, Janice Manuel, of Ada, OK; brother-in-law, Johnny Chaney, of Tishomingo, OK; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be her grandsons, Bradley Manuel, Joshawa Manuel, Christopher Manuel, Jason Manuel, Brandon Webb, Arron Manuel, Steven Manuel, Warren Harris and George Ward.
