Joyce "Yie Yie" Mascarella

Joyce "Yie Yie" Mascarella, 93 years old, beloved Mother, Grandmother, and Great- Grandmother, was called to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on January 31, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. She entered this world on May 17, 1931, born to Lula and George Cole, in Pleasant Hill, LA. She was a member of First Baptist of Slaughter. Joyce retired from the Louisiana Teachers Retirement System after 30 years, where she met her lifelong friend, Carolyn Forbes. Her passion was selflessly caring for her family.

She is survived by her daughter, Ramona "P'nut" Wallace (Alvin); grandchildren, Blake, Heather (Brent), Santana, and Lonica (Jamie); great-grandchildren, Jace, Bentley, Jaelyn, Allyson, Kylie, Kynleigh, Levi, and Khloe; sister, Janice Stiles; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Joyce is preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, Sam Mascarella; father, George Cole; mother, Lula Cole; and son, Jace Mascarella.

Relatives and friends are invited to join the family for the visitation at Baker Funeral Home, 6401 Groom Road, Baker, on Monday, February 3, 2025, from 11:00 AM until the Memorial Service at 12:00 PM, officiated by Bro. Basil Wicker.
