1951 – 2025
Rev. Joyce Eileen Pearcy Mask was born on Tuesday, October 2, 1951, in Enid, Oklahoma, to William Silas
Pearcy and Bettie Josefine Tribble Pearcy. She was the second of eight children. She was preceded in death
by her parents, William and Bettie Pearcy, and one brother, Sidney Pearcy. She is survived by her older sister,
Diana Burkinshaw; and four younger sisters and one brother: Linda Beebe and her husband Brent Beebe; Dr.
Carol Howard and her husband Dr. Jeffrey Howard; Dr. Rev. Patty Gallagher and her husband Dr. Randy
Gallagher; Melody Leggett; and Silas Pearcy. She was also survived by her husband, Rev. Ronnie Glenn
Mask, Midlothian, Texas – whom she married in 1972; one daughter: Kayla Delyn Cantley and her husband
Micah Cantley of Canon City, Colorado; and three sons: Nicholas Glenn Mask and his wife, Danitza Mask of
Alvarado, Texas; William Samuel Mask and his wife Lisa Mask of Bloomington, Indiana; and Benjamin Andrew
Mask of Midlothian, Texas. She is also survived by 10 grandchildren: Alec Cantley, Meghan Cantley, Chandler
Cantley, Cohen Cantley, Samuel Mask, Charlie Mask, Lily Mask, Nicholas Mask, Katherine Mask, and Ana

other friends and relatives.
Joyce and her husband, Ronnie, served as pastors from 1972-1987 and 2016-2025 in Kentucky, Texas, and
Oklahoma. In 1987, while on a missions' trip they were called to serve in the country of Guatemala – where
they served until September of 1992, when they were asked to transfer to the country of Peru. In Peru, Joyce
taught in several Bible Schools, held Women's Conferences, and was Director of the English Department at
the school she and Ronnie built. Joyce created her own English-as-a-Second-Language curriculum, helped
start new churches, hosted over 100 teams, plus much more! Ronnie and Joyce served in Peru until 2013
when, because of illness affecting her immune system, Joyce was not able to live at 8000 feet altitude, so they
transferred back to Guatemala. In Guatemala, they started a ministry for new pastors. Unfortunately, the
altitude of Guatemala City (almost 5000 feet) was still too great, so they had to transfer to San Pedro Sula,
Honduras in 2015 where they lived at sea-level until 2016. In July of 2016, because of her health, they retired
from the Assemblies of God Missions (AGWM) and took a church in Alvarado, Texas.
Joyce was an accomplished singer, pianist, artist, preacher, teacher, children's minister, seamstress, and these
were just a few of her gifts and talents. She was a fantastic translator – very animated (if you saw her translate
for someone, you would never forget it!) The truth being said, there was nothing she couldn't do, and do it well
- as a young girl, she even broke wild horses for her dad!
She loved the Lord with all her heart and loved to tell everyone about Jesus. While in Peru, although she had
a VW bug, she liked to travel by Taxi because almost always the driver would ask her what she was doing in
Arequipa and that would give her an opportunity to witness – she called it her "Taxi Ministry." (She won many
to the Lord that way.) She was a faithful, loving wife and mother and will be missed!
