Joyce McCool Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Click Funeral Home - Farragut Chapel on Mar. 3, 2025.
Joyce Jean (Sees) McCool,
Born March 5th, 1945, in Cleveland, Ohio, and left her loving family very unexpectedly on February 25th, 2025 (her husband Bob's birthday) in Knoxville, Tennessee.
In her early years, she grew up on a farm in west Tennessee with hardworking parents Ott and Millie, and four other sisters, Carolyn, Judy, Brenda and Sandy. Eventually they moved to Iowa City, Iowa, still enjoying farm life. Joyce's favorite thing about country living was riding her horse, Dolly.
After graduating from Iowa City High School, she married the love of her life, Bob McCool. They were married for 55 years and had two children, Angie and Greg.
Following several moves within Bob's career including Wisconsin, Minnesota and back to Iowa (Cedar Rapids), she finally made it back to her beloved Tennessee in 1982 when Bob found a job in Knoxville. Northern living was definitely not for her, and she sure let him know about it!
Life was great for everyone until 1992 when Bob was faced with some serious health issues that changed their lives forever. Joyce was his constant and loving caregiver until his passing in 2018 while also working for Knox County library system.
Being the hard working, conscientious and caring person that she was, she carried on. She poured herself into her surroundings and kept up her house and beautiful yard and flowers. There was rarely a day that she didn't have a project going on inside or out. She especially loved what she called "riding her pony", also known as mowing with her John Deere riding mower!
Her love of family was very strong. She got to be a part of many celebrations such as milestone birthdays, graduations, weddings, and a birth that made her a great grandmother. Another great love of hers was the Tennessee Vols and she never missed a game!
Joyce will be greatly missed by all family, friends and neighbors. She was truly one of the most decent, truthful, and down to earth people you would ever hope to meet.
Preceded in death by husband Bob McCool, parents Ottis and Mildred Sees, sister Judith {Sees) Stansell, sister-in-law Cynthia King, and brother-in-law Ron Lollar.
Leaving behind daughter Angie (Carey) Zachary, son Greg (Heather) McCool, sisters Carolyn (Jim) Schultz, Brenda Lollar, Sandy (Steve) Davis. Grand children Evan (Haley) Davis, Reise Zachary, Henry McCool, Lindy McCool and great grand- daughter Madelyn Davis, and many other nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles that she loved so much.
The family will receive friends from 5:00pm-7:00pm on Monday, March 10th at Click Funeral Home Farragut.
Burial will be 12:30pm on Tuesday, March 11th at East Tennessee State Veteran's Cemetery, John Sevier Hwy.
